Can you love the traumatised one?!
The one who weeps when your actions don’t match your words,
The one who trembles at your anger,
The one who fears your judgement?
The inner child who fears she is all alone,
That her vulnerability is not loveable,
And that she must endure her pain by herself,
So that she is not a burden to others!
The voice that says she’s endured too much,
She can’t handle anymore suffering,
and she doesn’t want to be here any longer.
Can you love that one?!
Because if you can’t,
And you continue to shut her away and ignore her pleas,
Her voice will become louder and louder,
Until her grief overwhelms you.
So take your attention to her now,
And let her know,
“It’s ok my love,
You are loveable exactly as you are,
Even in your most vulnerable moments,
You are loved,
And you are never alone.
I love you, and I will hold you now.
Your home is here in my arms,
And the safety and security that you seek is found within.
I am listening to your fears,
Paying attention to your tears,
And I stop rejecting you now.
You are not ‘too much’,
You are a part of me,
And you deserve to be loved.”
